Positive results Triumph

This year saw Triumph’s 20th anniversary of the make’s relaunch, under John Bloor’s leadership, and unlike some other start-ups in the last 2 decades, where we have seen a number of bankruptcies, Triumph is posting healthy results. This despite the recent financial crisis.
The company saw a 9% increase in unit sales in the United States for the month of April (Year-on-year). As Mark Kennedy, President and CEO of Triumph Motorcycles North America, said:
“It’s feels good to see consistent growth, and we’re optimistic about the future …the U.S. economy is showing signs that indicate we should have a good year”
Back in 1990 the company launched the Trophy 1200 and 900, Daytona 1000 and 750 and Trident 750 and 900. Over the years the company has expanded it’s lineup to 13 different models, ranging from retro, muscle, sports, urban naked to touring.

According to the company it is looking to further expand their lineup and venture into new motorcycle segments. For 2010 the company launched the Sprint GT, an update of the Sprint ST, which was launched 5 years ago. The GT has new 31 litre panniers, ABS brakes as standard and underseat storage. The 1055cc 3 cylinder engine has been upgraded to deliver increased power, torque and usability.
